Whirlwind Texas!!!

Saturday March 29 we left for Dallas, Texas for the beginning of a vacation week. It was a wonderful week for us. We took the dogs up to see Lois for the week in Mayville, and then off to the airport we went! We had a great flight. Less than 2 hours and we were in Dallas. We had reservations at a hotel in Arlington, which is about 20 minutes from the airport. After that we picked up an old friend of Dave's wife, Debbie. Debbie's husband was one of Dave's best friends through high school. They lost track for a number of years as Walter and Debbie moved out of Wisconsin. When Dave got the job in Oconomowoc, Walter's mom sent the news article down to Walter and Debbie and the guys have been keeping in touch ever since. They were up in Wisconsin last summer. This year once Dave and I decided on going to Texas for a vacation we knew we would have to stop for a visit. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't great, Walter had to go on a business trip to Germany the exact times we were going to be there. But, he did get home the Friday night before we left for Wisconsin. They invited us to stay by them so the guys could catch up. Of course flying cross country never works as nicely as you would hope, they lost his luggage and the flight was late. But we finally got to catch up, eat a later dinner, enjoy a couple of beers and a number of good laughs! Walter's favorite beer is Shiner. I love it! It is my new favorite as well. It is brewed in Texas, but we can get it here in Wisconsin, and I plan to do that! We took Debbie to dinner the first Friday night, JB's (Or something like that??). It was terrific. I ordered this small pizza which was one of the best I have ever had. The photo is of Dave and Debbie while we waited for our table.
